THE ASSOCIATION FOR COMPUTING MACHINERY (ACM) SELECTS A GLOBAL ROSTER OF THIRTY MEMBERS AS NEW FELLOWS
New York, January 11, 2000...The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) -- the oldest and largest society
for computing and technology professionals worldwide recognize 30 of its members for their achievements in computer
science and information technology, as well as their contributions to further the mission of the ACM.
The 30 individuals will be inducted on Saturday, May 6, 2000 at the annual ACM Awards Banquet at the Fairmont Hotel in
San Francisco. These new inductees -- whose names are listed below -- bring the total member ACM Fellows to 384.
The Role of Fellows
The ACM Fellows serve as distinguished colleagues to whom the ACM and its members look toward for guidance and
leadership as the world of information technology evolves. Their technical contributions reflect the powers of their
ability to inspire while their works span all horizons in computer science producing solutions that are useful for
people everywhere.
