| Technology Outreach Program
Since its inception in 1947,
the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) has been committed
to promoting the free interchange of information about the sciences and arts of
information processing. In support of this mission, the ACM Technology Outreach
Program (TOP) offers a variety of professional services and
activities.
- The ACM Distinguished Speaker Program has been
one of the computer industry's premier outreach endeavors in the United States
for the past four decades. In addition, we have now DLPs established in other
regions of the world as well. Please visit these sites if you are in:
- The TOP
Videotape Library offers quality VHS programming to ACM Chapters free of
charge. A variety of computing topics are covered in these professionally
produced programs.
- The TOP Video Podium records current ACM Lecturers
at work in the Lectureship Series. This is an excellent way for chapters to
become acquainted with the ACM Lecturers and topics. These VHS tapes are
recordings of live presentations.
- The Crossroads - Spanish
Edition is a Spanish translation of the popular ACM student publication.
- The Regional Magnet Events are conferences and
workshops sponsored by other groups and organizations but which use ACM
Lecturers as keynote speakers.
- International ACM Student Chapter "Big Events." These are meetings held by
and for ACM Student Chapters worldwide. The 2003 "Big Event" is ENCA 2003 in Guanajuato,
Mexico, May 7-9.
The Technology Outreach Program is a part of the ACM Membership Activities Board.
