American Anthropological Association

Following CSCW 2002, in the same conference facility, the 2002 Annual Meeting of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) took place November 20-24. Of particular relevance to CSCW 2002 attendees was the conference theme, (Un)Imaginable Futures, including topics such as "the political-economic consequences of unequal access and distribution of technological innovations both past and present."

In turn, CSCW 2002 extended a warm welcome to AAA members who would like to learn about research in Computer Supported Cooperative Work and the important role that ethnographic methods have played and continue to play in this domain.
