Conference registration and check-in is located in the 8th Street North area on the lobby level, outside Kitty O'Sheas restaurant.

Student Volunteers

Student Volunteers are a great source of information and assistance during the conference. Many are working on their Ph.D.s and some are looking for job opportunities. You will recognize Student Volunteers by a special CSCW Student Volunteer T-Shirt.

Attire

Casual dress will be appropriate throughout the conference. You may wish to bring semi-formal attire for the conference reception, but it is not required. The weather in Chicago varies widely - please plan accordingly.

Message Center

Message boards will be located near the registration area.

Announcements

Important announcements and schedule updates will be posted at various locations around the conference venue and on the CSCW web site.

Computing

An Internet room and wireless connections will be available. Please see the Computing page for more information.

Electrical Power

Electrical power in the United States is 110 volts/60 cycles AC. CSCW does not provide power converters or adaptors.

Coffee Breaks

Snacks and beverages will be available during the morning and afternoon coffee breaks. There are many lunch and dinner options (not included in the conference fee) both in the hotel and in the surrounding area.

Alcoholic Beverages

The minimum legal drinking age in the United States is 21. Be prepared to show proof of age (passport or driver's license) if you wish to consume alcoholic beverages.

Cell Phone Courtesy

As a courtesy to presenters and other attendees, please turn off cell phones and pagers in all sessions.

Audio/Video Recording

The use of audio or video recording equipment by conference attendees is not permitted during any part of the conference.

Smoking Policy

Smoking is not permitted in the conference venue.
