Prasanna V. Parthasarathy is a graduate student in the Department of General Engineering at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Following his work on application of genetic algorithms to truss optimization during his undergraduate study in civil engineering, he now works on the application of hybrid genetic algorithms to engineering optimization problems. Other areas of academic interest include parallel computation, scientific computing and finite element analysis.
