ACM Crossroads Copyright Policy

ACM Crossroads Magazine follows the copyright policy of the Association for Computing Machinery, our parent organization. The full ACM Copyright Policy is online for you to look at.

For issues 1.1 (Fall 1994) through 6.4 (Summer 2000), ACM Crossroads allowed the authors of articles and columns to retain the copyrights. However, beginning with issue 6.5 (Mid-Summer 2000) and thereafter, ACM will require authors to transfer the copyright to ACM Inc. for all material printed in ACM Crossroads in any media (online and/or in print). The Transfer of Copyright Agreement form is online. All authors accepted for publication will be required to complete this form and snail mail it to ACM at the address on the form (Editor, ACM Crossroads; c/o ACM Copyright & Permissions; 1515 Broadway, 17th floor; New York, NY 10036 USA). If an author is unable or unwilling to transfer the copyright, ACM Crossroads regrets that it will be unable to publish that author's material. Please note that even regular columnists will need to send in a separate copyright transfer form for each and every column.

The ACM Crossroads copyright policy will now read as follows:
