Registration Forms

Our site's registration form requires users to give us contact information (like their name, and email).

Contact information from the registration forms is used to email information about our magazine. The customer's contact information is also used to get in touch with the customer when necessary.

Users may opt-out of receiving future mailings; see the choice/opt-out section below.

Special Relationships

Our "Technology News" page (http://www.acm.org/crossroads/resources/news.html) is "powered by" iSyndicate. iSyndicate owns the news content on that page. If they use cookies in their news feed, then they are the ones receiving the cooking information. We do not have access to any cookies they may place. We do not share any of our logged information with iSyndicate or collect information on their behalf.

Other services used by our website include a page-change monitoring service powered by NetMind; and a referral service powered by Recommend-It. We do not know if they use cookies in their services; if they do use cookies, we do not have access to that information. We do not share any of our logged information with them or collect information on their behalf.

Our webring service is run completely by Yahoo! and they do use cookies in their javascript navigation bar. We do not have access to the information in their cookie and we do not share our information with them or collect information on their behalf.

Public Forums

This site makes chat rooms, forums, message boards, and/or news groups available to its users. Please remember that any information that is disclosed in these areas becomes public information and you should exercise caution when deciding to disclose your personal information.

This site has security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.

Our site provides users the opportunity to opt-out of receiving promotional/marketing information from us via our "xrds-announce" and our "xrds-liaisons" mailing list.
