Positions Open at Crossroads

Background Information

Crossroads is a student-run magazine published by the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM) in print and online. Published quarterly, Crossroads has a print circulation of more than 20,000; the Crossroads website receives on average more than 3,000 hits per day. All positions are voluntary - there is no compensation involved.

How to Apply

To apply for any Crossroads position, send an email to crossroads@acm.org. Include your resume and a paragraph describing your interest and qualifications. Depending on the position, we may require a writing sample as well.

Open Positions

We are always looking for talented students interested in joining the editorial staff, so feel free to email us at any time if you'd like to apply.

NEW! As of August 2008, we are specifically looking for one or two online editors and two associate editors to join our team. The duties of an online editor include enhancing and maintaining the Crossroads web site and putting each issue online. Associate editors review submissions and work with authors of accepted articles to get their article in shape and up to Crossroads standards. Please email us if you would like to apply.

We also are seeking regular columnists, who are NOT staff members. To apply, send an email to crossroads@acm.org, telling us about your qualifications, a list of topics you would cover, and include a sample column of about 800 words to show us your writing style. A columnist writes a number of columns that appear in successive issues. If you are interested in a one-time column or article, use our normal submission process.

All Crossroads editorial positions require you to:
