ACM Crossroads Increases its Web Influence

December 10, 1998

ACM Crossroads received the following email today:

Dear Editor:

InternetValley would like to congratulate your publication for a highly successful Web site, that according to our research, has increased its Web influence over the three year period that we have been tracking such data.

Since 1995, Internet Valley Inc. (http://www.internetvalley.com) has been studying the presence of computer-based magazines on the Internet. In comparison to competitors in the industry, your publication increased its Web influence from 1995 to 1998. In a fast-paced world where publications fold or merge frequently, we would like to congratulate you for remaining one of the leaders in the field.

One of the basic measures of Web influence is the total number of the external hyperlinks to the company's Web site using major Internet search engines. While we at Internet Valley believe that all 100 computer magazines increased their own Web influence, your publication increased more quickly than others who saw a decrease or no change in overall rank.

The full list of the top 100 computer magazines can be found on Internet Valley's Web site at http://www.internetvalley.com/top100mag.html
