Visual Basic has become the most popular RAD tool out there today. Until recently I had never even looked at it, but the research group I joined in grad school develops in it. So I had to learn VB6 - fast. After pouring over several books in the bookstore, this is the one I picked. It was the right decision. Cornell spends the first few chapters laying the backgroud of how VB is different that other programming languages you may have used in the past. He does some simple examples to get you started and comfortable with the concept. Then, in the later chapters, we gets more in depth into the features that make VB such a powerful language. This book is good for those with or without some programming skill, although obviously some backgroud in programming will make the whole experience less painful. This book was recommended by Erika Orrick <orrick@acm.org>
