FCRC '03 Educator's Travel Grant Program

FCRC '03 is proud to announce the availability of travel grants for faculty from colleges with high female and/or minority enrollment to attend  FCRC '03 in San Diego,  CA.  Funding for the travel grants is provided by the SIG Project Fund (SPF) and the National Science Foundation (NSF).

Faculty members attending the 16 conferences and associated workshops and tutorials that constitute FCRC '03 will be exposed to state-of-the-art research in a broad range of subfields in computer science. 

In addition, there will be a panel discussion on the evening of Tuesday, June 10 from 7 to 8 p.m. on the topic of "Computer Science Research: Recruiting and Retaining Women and Minorities." Panelists will include Jan Cuny (University of Oregon), Leah Jamieson (Purdue University), William Aspray (University of Indiana), and Ann Quiroz Gates (The University of Texas at El Paso).

The grants will cover registration fees at one or more of the constituent events and up to $1000 of travel  and accommodation expenses.  The choice of which conference, workshop, and tutorial registrations will be based on the applicant's preferences and a balancing criteria. In addition, there will be a reception for program participants on the evening of Tuesday, June 10th.

To be eligible, the applicant must be a faculty member in good standing at a college with high female and/or minority enrollment, actively involved in undergraduate teaching of computer science, and have no other sources of funding to attend FCRC '03

Deadline Extension: The deadline for Educators' Travel Grant Program has been extended to May 1, 2003. Applicants who apply after April 17, 2003 will be advised of support by May 15, 2003. Applicants who applied before April 17, 2003 will be notified by May 2, 2003. Use the on-line FCRC Educator's application form to apply for a grant. Applicants can also download the form in PDF or ASCII text and mail it (using either electronic mail or physical mail) to the 2003 FCRC Faculty Support Travel Chair:
