The Association for Computing Machinery (ACM) and IBM are proud to announce the fourth year of the ACM/IBM Quest for Java™ contest. The contest is open only to ACM Student Members (please read eligibility requirements). If you're not a student member you can join ACM right from this site, right now! Submit your very best applet and you'll have a chance of winning one of our cash prizes.

This year you may only compete as an individual. We have changed the structure to promote more participation from our student members, and to increase the prize allocation for those that win. Please see the official rules for eligibility requirements and entry details. When you register you'll be part of the "jquest listserv" that will keep you abreast of important Contest announcements, but we'll also post these announcements in the "Contest Update" section.

October 15, 1999: Registration Opens
February 20, 2000: Last day to register and/or join ACM
March 1st through March 31, 2000: Submit Applets
April 1st through April 30, 2000: Judging Period
May, June 2000: Winners Notified
July 2000: Winners Posted
