Today's Topic: Are You Eligible To Be An ACM Distinguished Member?

Thursday, June 23, 2011

ACM members with at least 15 years of professional experience plus 5 years of continuous professional membership, and who have made noteworthy contributions to the computing field can be nominated as Distinguished Members. Each year, the program recognizes up to the top 10 percent of ACM's professional members as Distinguished Members, an important ACM membership and career milestone.

Candidates for Distinguished Member may nominate themselves or be nominated by another ACM member. Three categories - Distinguished Educator, Distinguished Engineer, and Distinguished Scientist - are open for nominations. Nominations for each category are considered separately and reviewed annually.

Distinguished Members are part of ACM's prestigious Advanced Member Grades Program. This year's deadline for submission is August 1, 2011. The 5-year continuous professional membership must be completed by the deadline.
