March 31, 2011: ACM Digital Library Expands Table of Contents Service

Today's Topic: ACM Digital Library Expands Table of Contents Service
Thursday, March 31, 2011

ACM Digital Library users now have access to a convenient Table of Contents (TOC) service for all publications - from ACM and other publishers. This newly expanded option alerts users via email and RSS feeds to new issues of journals, magazines, newsletters, and proceedings that have been posted to the DL.

By signing in with a free ACM Web Account, DL users can opt in to receive TOCs via email, or they can subscribe to TOC RSS feeds. Users can also manage their TOC subscriptions via the "TOC Manager" link as well as from the "TOC Service" link found on the citation page of each publication.

From the helpful TOC tab on the citation page, users can scroll down to access each article in the publication as well as their respective titles, authors, page data, and Digital Object Identifier (doi), the unique identifier for online content. Also available are abstracts from the title link as well as a PDF version of the article.

The ACM DL's extensive collection of knowledge charts the evolution of computing as a science and a profession. Its newly integrated features, functionality, and content constitute a critical resource for computing professionals who drive innovation in the digital age.
