Vanderbilt University Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Nashville, TN The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for faculty positions in the areas of computer science and computer engineering. We are interested in candidates at the Assistant Professor and senior levels. Applicants in all areas are encouraged to apply and will be considered; however, preference will be given to candidates in the areas of embedded and hybrid systems, computer networks, and computer databases. Applicants should have a doctorate or equivalent degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related discipline. Candidates are expected to develop a strong research program and maintain excellence in teaching. The EECS department currently has 31 faculty members with a broad range of research interests and sponsored research activity totaling $8.5M. The department enrolls approximately 400 undergraduate students in three accredited programs: computer engineering, computer science, and electrical engineering. The department currently enrolls about 200 graduate students. In addition, two research centers associated with the department, the Institute for Software Integrated Systems (ISIS), and the Center for Intelligent Systems (CIS), encourage and provide ample opportunities for innovative interdisciplinary research.
