(This policy was adopted at the Publications Board meeting on May 06, 2000)

* For a conference to be considered, it must have the approval of a SIG or the Publications Board. Such approval can be long-standing, but both the conference and the SIG (/Pubs Board) can withdraw any time from the arrangement for future proceedings.

* ACM will produce a sufficient number of proceedings for distribution at their conference, at a reasonable price to the conference. ACM will also produce a number of copies for sale to libraries and individuals after the conference, possibly with preferential rates to ACM and members of the in-cooperation SIG.

* The conference will be responsible for providing camera-ready hardcopy and a suitable electronic version, both in the proper format, which will be specified in a web page.

* ACM copyright policy will apply to the proceedings. The proceedings will appear in the ACM Digital Library. The proceedings will have the same access policy alternatives as a SIG proceedings, with the in-cooperation SIG (/Pubs Board) and the conference steering committee jointly deciding the specific access decisions.

* ACM will establish a formal ACM Computer Science Proceedings Series, for libraries to subscribe to, analogous to the Springer Lecture Notes in Computer Science.
