Program Review Guidelines
Purpose of the Program Review
The purpose of the Program Review is to show that a SIG is viable.
Viability is based on:
2) Solid finances
3) Healthy conferences
4) Publications or other member benefits are being delivered and received well by members
Content of the Written Program Review Report
In preparation for the upcoming Program Review, ACM HQ will send you updated statistical information about your membership, conference outcomes, year end finances and publications. There’s no need to repeat this statistical information in the slides because it will be included as SGB back-up along with the last annual report.
We recommend that there be no more than 5 slides which highlight the trends or plans since the SIGs last review in the following areas:
- One slide on financials
- One slide on membership and volunteer development
- One slide on conferences
- Two more slides on publications, other member benefits, or other issues the SIG wishes to highlight
Presentation to The SIG Governing Board [SGB]
The SIG Chair (or designee) should plan on making a 5-10 minute presentation to the other SIG Governing Board members during the SIG Governing Board Meeting. This will provide the opportunity for other SIG leaders to learn from the report and for solutions to common concerns to be generated through a 5 minutes discussion following the presentation.
The presentation should focus on the above along with the successes and concerns facing the SIG in the near future. The statistics will be covered in back up materials provided by ACM HQ.
SIG Governing Board Executive Committee Review
The SGB EC will review the slides prior to the SGB meeting. This will allow them to prepare a preliminary recommendation for the SGB based on the information provided in the slides and the back-up prepared by ACM. Please send a copy of the slide presentation to Donna Baglio (baglio@acm.org) 2 weeks prior to the SGB meeting.
