There are many tangible and intangible rewards of participating
in one of ACM’s Student Research Competitions (SRCs):
Awards
The top three undergraduate and graduate winners at each SRC receive
prizes of $500, $300, and $200, respectively (USD)
The top three undergraduate and graduate winners at each SRC receive
an award plaque and a two-year complimentary ACM membership with
a subscription to ACM’s Digital Library.
The top three graduate and undergraduate Grand Finalists receive
an additional $500, $300, and $200 respectively and Grand Finalist
plaques. They are invited to ACM's annual Awards Banquet.
Prestige
Grand Finalist and their advisors are invited to the Annual ACM
Awards Banquet where they are recognized for their accomplishments,
along with prestigious ACM award winners, including the winner of
the Turing Award (also known as the “Nobel Prize of Computing”).
Visibility
Undergraduate and graduate SRC participants have opportunities to
meet with researchers in their fields of interest, making important
connections and gaining significant insights into their work. The
SRC poster and presentation sessions are open to all conference
attendees. The names and research abstracts of winners from all
SRCs are posted on the SRC website. Experience
All SRC participants have an exceptional opportunity to sharpen
their research and communications skills in preparation for their
SRC experience; these visual, organizational, and presentation skills
will be of great value throughout one’s academic and working
