There
are many tangible and intangible rewards of participating
in one of ACM’s Student Research Competitions (SRCs).
Naturally, it is a great honor for both undergraduate
and graduate students to be selected as participants in
any of ACM’s Special Interest Group (SIG) Conference
hosted Student Research Competitions. Here’s the
rewards you’ll encounter:
SRC Rewards & Recognition:
 |
The top three
(3) undergraduate and graduate winners, determined
by the judge’s evaluation of the poster (visual)
and oral presentations, receive prizes of $500,
$300, and $200, respectively (USD). |
 |
The top three (3) undergraduate
and graduate winners receive an award certificate and
one-year complimentary ACM membership with a subscription
to ACM’s Digital Library. |
 |
The top three (3) winners
of all the ACM Student Research Competitions for
a given year are eligible to compete in the SRC
Grand Finals. The top three (3) selected undergraduate
and graduate researchers are invited, along with
their research advisors, to the Annual ACM Awards
Banquet to be recognized for their accomplishments.
The Awards Banquet is where the Turing Award (computing’s
“Nobel Prize”) and ACM’s other
prestigious award winners are honored. |
 |
Undergraduate and graduate
SRC participants have many opportunities to meet
with researchers in their own fields to share ideas
and gain new insights. |
 |
Undergraduate and graduate
student winners are recognized for both their visual
and oral presentations. SRC Participants have the
opportunity of presenting their research in a special
open SRC conference session providing more visibility
for their research. |
 |
SRC participants’ research
abstracts will be posted on the ACM Student Research
Competition website, and the top three (3) undergraduate
and graduate student winners’ research will
be identified on the website as well. |
All SRC participants have an exceptional opportunity
to sharpen their communications skills in preparation
of their SRC experience; these visual, organizational,
oral, and aural communication skills will be of great
value throughout one’s working and thinking career.
