Featured Skillsoft Course: Big Data Corporate Leadership Perspective
This month's featured Skillsoft course is Big Data Corporate Leadership Perspective. Big data leaders must have skill sets that differ from what leaders of the past had. They must be able to show how big data generates value; how investments in big data initiatives should be targeted; and how fast the organization should move to implement them. In this course, you will learn how to create a governance strategy, examine security concerns, and realize how this will impact human resources.

Featured Safari Title: Blockchain
Blockchain takes you beyond the currency ("Blockchain 1.0") and smart contracts ("Blockchain 2.0") to demonstrate how the blockchain is in position to become the fifth disruptive computing paradigm after mainframes, PCs, the Internet, and mobile/social networking. Author Melanie Swan, Founder of the Institute for Blockchain Studies, explains that the blockchain is essentially a public ledger with potential as a worldwide, decentralized record for the registration, inventory, and transfer of assets: not just finances, but property and intangible assets: such as votes, software, health data, and ideas.

This is just one of 700 award-winning, best-selling technical books, full-length video courses, and O'Reilly Conference videos from Safari Books Online in ACM's eBook collection, by leading publishers such as O'Reilly Media, Manning and many more. All members (Student and Professional) can access them through the ACM Learning Center eBook catalog as well as the ACM Digital Library.

Featured MK Title: Data Insights
Data Insights offers multi-disciplinary perspectives and useful information about how visualizations can open your eyes to data. This thought-provoking book takes a conversational approach to presenting an overview of the subject, while also focusing on key details. It highlights the ideas and work of a variety of people who are actively contributing to this still emerging field. Case studies from business analytics, healthcare, games, security, and network monitoring, among others, portray what is going on in data visualization today. A diverse blend of original illustrations and real-world examples, both classical and cutting-edge, help fill in the picture.

This is just one of nearly 500 titles from publishers Morgan Kaufmann (MK) and Syngress in ACM's eBook collection, covering the most bleeding-edge topics in computing, such as Big Data, Cybersecurity, Human-Computer Interaction, Parallel Computing, and more. The books are available in PDF (and some in ePub) and are downloadable to your desktop, laptop, tablet, and any popular eBook reader on your mobile device. All members (Student and Professional) can access them through the ACM Learning Center eBook catalog as well as the ACM Digital Library.
