One of the goals of
FCRC '03 is to encourage and support
students preparing to enter any of the many fields covered by the
conference. To this end
FCRC '03 is organizing several events
aimed at exposing students to the research community, while also helping them
make contacts and demonstrating their work.

FCRC Student Poster Session
The FCRC poster session is a chance for students to display their
work for the community and make contacts with interested members of
their field. Students will be selected by individual conferences to
participate, and will be given space in one session for a poster
display of their work. The session will be held in conjunction with
a social event for all conference members, giving the research
community an opportunity to view the work participating students.
Students interested in participating should contact the
participating conference most relevant to
their research.
Date and Time (Tentative): Monday, June 9: 5:30-7:00 and Wednesday,
June 11: 5:30-7:00
Location: Grand Foyer / Palm Court
Student/Researcher Breakfast
The student/researcher breakfast will be an opportunity for students
to have some more personal interaction with senior researchers in
relaxed setting. Participating students will be divided into small
groups, each of which will have breakfast with one or two members of
the research community on the designated morning.
Students: Both breakfasts are now full. Thanks to all the students
who signed up to participate.
Researchers: We are still looking for volunteers to participate in
this program. Please contact
John Karro if you are interested in participating.
Date and Time: 7:30 a.m. Monday June 9th and Thursday.
Location: Monday, Garden Salon 1. Thursday, Terrace Pavilion.
Networking Panel
The goal of this panel is to identify
effective methods for getting the most out of attending conferences
by networking. The panel will feature well-known researchers that
will describe methods that have worked well for them as well as
methods that work when someone meets the panelists for the first
time. Further, the panelists will describe some "Do"s and "Don't"s
for conference networking.
