ACM A.M. Turing Award Recipient Interview

In these interviews conducted by the ACM History Committee, nine ACM A.M. Turing Laureates give fascinating accounts of their lives, their work, and the people and circumstances that influenced and inspired them. They reflect on their contributions to computing, the impact they have had on their field, and the ways in which they expect the computing landscape to evolve in the future.

The Turing Laureates featured in these interviews are Tony Hoare, Michael Rabin, Barbara Liskov, Len Adleman, Fran Allen, Stephen Cook, Judea Pearl, Michael Stonebraker, and John Backus.

 

Celebrating 50 Years of the ACM Turing Award

ACM's celebration of 50 years of the Turing Award culminated with a conference June 23 and 24, 2017 at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. Keynote talks and panel discussions highlighted the significant impact of the contributions of the Turing Laureates on computing and society, as well as looking ahead to the future of technology and innovation.
