ACM Open Conference Statement

The open exchange of ideas and the freedom of thought and expression are central to the aims and goals of ACM and its conferences.  These aims and goals require an environment that recognizes the inherent worth of every person and group, that fosters dignity, understanding, and mutual respect, and that embraces diversity.
ACM is firmly committed to prohibiting discrimination at its conferences against individuals because of race, color, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity or expression, age, marital status religion, national origin, ancestry, or disability.  All individuals are entitled to participate in any ACM activity free of discrimination, including harassment based on any of the above factors.

ACM is concerned about discriminatory legislation in various locations and will work with conference organizers to best address location related issues.

ACM FAccT 2024, June 3 - 6

The ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency (ACM FAccT) brings together researchers and practitioners interested in fairness, accountability, and transparency in socio-technical systems. Sessions include "Building Feminist AI in Latin America: Experiences From the Ground," "Towards Responsible Non-extractive AI Research and Collaboration with Indigenous Communities, "Visions of Afro-feminist Emancipatory, Liberatory AI" "AI in the Classroom: Participation Models for the School Community," and many more. This event is being held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

MobiSys 2024, June 3 - 7

The ACM International Conference on Mobile Systems, Applications, and Services seeks to present innovative and significant research on the design, implementation, usage, and evaluation of mobile computing and wireless systems, applications, and services. Sessions include "Privacy and security," "ML on Resource-Constrained Devices," "Cameras, Vehicles and Smart Cities," and more. Keynotes will be delivered by David Farber (Keio University), David Chu (NVIDIA), Ryuji Wakikawa (Softbank), Mahadev Satyanarayanan (CMU), Jie Liu (HIT), Tian He (JD Logistics), and Macro Gruteser (Google). The event is being held in Tokyo, Japan.

SIGMOD/PODS 2024, June 9 - 14

The annual ACM SIGMOD/PODS Conference is a leading international forum for database researchers, practitioners, developers, and users to explore cutting-edge ideas and results, and to exchange techniques, tools, and experiences. The conference includes tutorials on "Demystifying Data Management for Large Language Models," "Responsible Sharing of Spatiotemporal Data," and more, Keynote speakers will be Ricardo Baeza-Yates (Northeastern University), Luna Dong (Meta Reality Labs), and Peter Boncz (CWI Amsterdam and MotherDuck). The event is being held in Santiago, Chile, USA.

DAC 2024, June 23 - 27

The Design Automation Conference is the premier destination for the entire ecosystem devoted to the design and design automation of electronic circuits and systems. DAC offers outstanding education, training, exhibits and networking opportunities for a worldwide community of chip and system designers, researchers, academics, executives, and electronic design tool vendors. Keynote speakers are Jim Keller (Tenstorrent), Gary Patton (Intel), Alan Lee (Analog Devices, Inc.), and Sarita V. Adve (University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign). The conference will be held in San Francisco, California, USA.

STOC 2024, June 24 - 28

The ACM Symposium on the Theory of Computing is sponsored by the ACM Special Interest Group on Algorithms and Computation Theory. Special guest speaker 2024 ACM A.M Turing recipient Avi Wigderson will deliver his Turing Award Lecture, “Alan Turing: A TCS Role Model,” on Thursday, June 27 at 6 pm PT (Friday, June 28 at 1 am UTC). This year's workshops and sessions include "Algorithmic Opportunities in the Modern LLM Revolution," "The Power of Two-sided Recruitment in Two-sided Markets," "Length-Constrained Expanders," "Online Resource Allocation," and many more. Keynote speakers are Tim Roughgarden (Columbia University), Jakub Pachocki (OpenAI), and Michal Feldman (Tel Aviv University). The event will be held in Vancouver, Canada. 

PLDI 2024, June 24 - 28

The SIGPLAN Conference on Programming Language Design and Implementation is the premier forum in programming languages and programming systems research, covering design, implementation, theory, applications, and performance. Sessions and workshops include "Algorithms and Applications for Provable Repair of Deep Neural Networks," "Democratizing DSL development with the BuildIt Framework," "Concurrent Algorithms in Kotlin Coroutines," "Quick and dirty development of static analyses with LiSA," and more.  The event will be held in Copenhagen, Denmark.

WebSci 2024, May 21- 24

The ACM Web Science Conference is an interdisciplinary field dedicated to understanding the complex and multiple impacts of the Web on society and vice versa, co-located with the ACM Web Conference. The discipline is well situated to address pressing issues of our time by incorporating various scientific approaches. This year's keynote speakers are Eszter Hargittai (University of Zurich), Jie Tang (Tsinghua University), Dirk Hovy (Bocconi University), Hannes Werthner (TU Wien), and Jennifer Pan (Stanford University). The event is being held in Stuttgart, Germany.

womENcourage 2024, June 26-28

The 11th ACM Celebration of Women in Computing: womENcourage 2024, will be hosted at Escuela Politécnica Superior of Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Spain, June 26-28, 2024. Open to all genders, this event is aimed at celebrating the role and impact of women in computing and supporting participants at different stages in their STEM careers by offering an international, multisectoral, and multidisciplinary forum to share experience and knowledge, get constructive feedback, and promote meaningful networking.

ISCA 2024, June 29 - July 3

The International Symposium on Computer Architecture is the premier forum for new ideas and research results in computer architecture. Workshops and tutorials include "Open-Source Computer Architecture Research," "Emerging Vision and Graphics Systems and Architectures," "Undergraduate Architecture Mentoring Workshop," "Practical Symbiosis of Machine Learning, Computer Architecture, and Systems," "Systems and Architectures for Visual Computing ," and more. Keynote speakers are Mateo Valero (Barcelona Supercomputing Center), Sridhar R. Iyengar (Intel Labs), and Vivienne Sze (MIT). The event will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Virtual Conferences: A Guide to Best Practices

In March 2020 ACM formed a Presidential Task Force (PTF) to help conference organizers transition their events to online. The PTF is working on a guide to offer practical advice and shed light on the largely unfamiliar territory of online conferencing.

The report, available here, includes pointers to a live document with additional resources. We welcome comments, suggestions and experience reports from the community.

SIGGRAPH: Seminal Graphics Papers, Volume 2

In recognition of its 50th year as the premier conference and exhibition on computer graphics and interactive techniques, the Special Interest Group on Computer Graphics and Interactive Techniques (SIGGRAPH) will be publishing Seminal Graphics Papers, Volume 2. This collection of 89 papers celebrates SIGGRAPH’s origins and continued success as a technical and professional society, and typifies the ground-breaking research that has been the conference’s hallmark since 1974. All articles will be open in the DL with a print-on-demand version available for purchase as well.
