Register for ACM India Industry Webinar on 2 February with Gautam Shroff: "Enterprise AI: Automation, Amplification, and Managing Complexity"

January 23, 2019

Following the successful launch of ACM India Industry Webinar series in December 2018, we are pleased to announce the next webinar by another technology leader on a topic of significant industry interest.

Register now for the next session of ACM India Industry Webinar series, "Enterprise AI: Automation, Amplification, and Managing Complexity", to be presented on Saturday February 2, 2019 at 11am IST by Dr. Gautam Shroff, Vice President, Chief Scientist, and Head of Research, Tata Consultancy Services. All students, faculty and industry professionals are welcome to attend the webinar. Feel free to forward this communication to those who would be interested.

Note : You can also stream this webinar on your mobile device, including smartphone and tablet.

Abstract: In this webinar I shall describe how AI techniques can be applied in traditional enterprises across verticals, not only for automation but also amplification of human tasks. For example, I shall describe our experience with deploying deep-learning based knowledge assistants at scale within TCS. Next I shall give some examples of how AI and IOT are transforming manufacturing, by using deep-learning for detecting, diagnosing and sometimes predicting faults, as well as how deep-reinforcement learning can be used to manage supply chains from source to shelf, trade in inefficient markets, or even negotiate contracts. Finally I shall explain two challenges to the scaling of AI within traditional enterprises: embracing the culture of field experimentation, and figuring out how to marry mechanisms for developing and managing complex IT systems with the AL/ML paradigm.

Duration : 60 minutes (including audience Q&A)
