ACM India Summer Schools 2020 Cancelled due to COVID-19

Hope this communication finds you safe and in good health.

It has now become quite clear that some form of social distancing will need to be exercised and abundant caution will still be called for in the foreseeable future. Moreover, the host institutes may be preoccupied with the delayed academic schedules in June-July.

In the interest of everyone's safety, we have taken the decision of cancelling "ACM India Summer Schools 2020" this year. Many thanks to all those involved with the summer school planning and to the students who applied. We had already waived the application fee midway, and as announced earlier we will issue a refund to all those who paid until then. The refund procedure will be mailed to those students separately.

We are exploring the possibility of conducting some of these schools online with appropriately adjusted content and duration. Also, we may organize a few of these schools in December/January through the ACM India Winter School program, for which there will be a separate application process. We will let you know the details in due course of time.

Again, please take all the precautions, stay safe and healthy.

Regards,
Hemant Pande
Executive Director, ACM India
(On behalf of the Summer Schools Steering Committee)
