Apply Now for ACM India Online Winter Schools 2020-21: Deadline 7 November

We are pleased to announce ACM India Online Winter Schools 2020-21. These schools offer self-motivated students in-depth knowledge and exposure to research in advanced technology areas. Each school covers academic and applied research, and is taught by the best-in-class faculty from academia as well as industry. Each day typically comprises lectures as well as tutorial sessions with hands-on problem solving experience. Given the pandemic situation, all the schools will be online and typically during afternoons on the days mentioned.

These schools are targeted at students in the pre-final year of Bachelor's program or higher, unless marked otherwise in the school’s website. Like previous years, we again have one school exclusively for women students.

Here are the Winter Schools planned. More details about each school available via respective school’s website below.

The applicants have to qualify for the Winter Schools as demonstrated by most of the metrics below:

marks/grades in the relevant courses
recommendation from mentors (the application needs only some names, the selection committee will contact them if needed)
participation in programming or other contests
previous internship or research experience
any demonstrated self-study experience

Although being an ACM Student Member is not a requirement for applying to these schools, we encourage the applicants to join ACM, the world's largest educational and scientific computing society, aimed at advancing computing as a science and a profession.

There is a non-refundable application fee of INR200 + GST. Here is the payment link for the application fee. You can apply for two out of the four schools in your order of preference. Remember that the seats per school are limited and the application does not guarantee acceptance. Pay attention to the pre-requisites for the particular school you are applying for, to make sure you qualify. Also keep in mind that the competition for some of the schools may be much more than others, so choose your preferences wisely. Those who do not get accepted may still attend the school in listen-only mode on YouTube. However only the accepted and registered students will be entitled to the lecture-tutorial interaction, assignment assistance/evaluation and the certificate.

Selected students will be required to pay additional registration fees, no more than INR750 + GST. Registration payment link will be provided only to the selected students.
