COMPUTE 2020, Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Maharashtra, 10 to 12 December: Call for Papers

May 20, 2020

ACM India announces the 13th annual COMPUTE conference at Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology, Nagpur, Maharashtra, India from 10 to 12 December 2020. Since 2018, ACM India has decided to focus the theme of COMPUTE on improving the quality of computing education in the country. We seek 2-6 page abstracts from faculty and researchers in any theme of computing education, particularly in:

  • Pedagogical tools or methodologies to improve teaching-learning
  • Assessment tools or methodologies that are aligned to learning outcomes

COVID-19 related Note 1: The organisers are following the pandemic closely to determine whether the conference will be held physically or virtually. In any case, provisions will be made for participants to attend the conference virtually (at a reduced registration fee).

COVID-19 related Note 2: We highly encourage abstracts that discuss successful adaptations to online learning necessitated by the COVID-19 lockdown.

COMPUTE 2020 will also feature keynote talks from academic and industry experts on specific topics on pedagogy and assessment. In addition, we plan to have a workshop on research in computer science education. Abstracts that have interesting ideas or proposals will be considered for this workshop, even if they are not well analysed. While COMPUTE doesn't publish proceedings, the conference will provide active mentorship and facilitate collaborations to selected abstracts so that they can be polished and submitted for international conferences or journals.

Submissions: Abstracts must be submitted in electronic form via EasyChair. (Full information here.) Apart from explaining the tool or methodology in detail, abstracts should clearly demonstrate the impact through well researched methodology and data. Submissions must not exceed 6 pages (including the title page). The abstracts will be reviewed by the program committee for novelty and rigour. Selected abstracts will get a slot for presentation in the symposium and/or for a poster display.
