Safety, environment, and sustainability remain the biggest challenges for automotive developers as well as concerns for the society. With the growing penetration of on-board electronics, use of AI and machine learning, data handling capability and connectivity, technology is rapidly shifting toward smart and intelligent vehicles. We thus have the great opportunity to tap the benefits on one side, whereas a completely new scenario is emerging for standardizing and regulating these technologies. In order to reap the benefits with our infrastructural and user peculiarities, countries like India can aspire to become an important development hub. Requisite testing and validation trends are also offering immense opportunities for computational expertise.
