Nominations Open for ACM India Awards: ECR 2021, OCCW 2021 and DDA 2022

In order to recognize outstanding technical and professional contributions to the field of computing from India, the ACM India Council has instituted prestigious annual awards. The ACM India Council is now inviting nominations for 2021 awards for Early Career Researcher (ECR) and Outstanding Contributions in Computing by a Woman (OCCW), and the 2022 Doctoral Dissertation Award (DDA).

  • The ECR award is presented to individuals in the early stages of their career who have made outstanding contributions to the computing field primarily working in India. The award will carry a prize of ₹15 lakhs and is sponsored by Persistent Foundation. The deadline for nominations is 14 September 2021, 11 pm IST.
  • The OCCW award recognizes women professionals who have made fundamental, innovative, impactful contributions to the computing field primarily working in India. The award will carry a prize of ₹7 lakhs. The award is sponsored by Google. The deadline for nominations is 14 September 2021, 11 pm IST.
  • DDA recognizes the best doctoral dissertation(s) in Computer Science and Engineering from a degree-awarding institution based in India. The ACM India Doctoral Dissertation Award is accompanied by a prize of ₹2 lakhs. An honourable mention award, if any, is accompanied by a prize of ₹1 lakh. Tata Consultancy Services is the founding sponsor for this award. The deadline for nominations is 31 August 2021, 11 pm IST.

An eminent international jury for each award will select the winners.
