Reminder: Awards Nomination Deadline is 31 August, 2022

In order to recognize outstanding technical and professional contributions to the field of computing from India, the ACM India Council has instituted prestigious annual awards. The ACM India Council is now inviting nominations for 2022 awards for Early Career Researcher (ECR), Outstanding Contributions in Computing by a Woman (OCCW), the Outstanding Contribution to Computing Education (OCCE), and Doctoral Dissertation Award (DDA).

  • The ECR Award is presented to individuals in the early stages of their career who have made outstanding contributions to the computing field primarily working in India. The award carries a prize of ₹15 lakhs sponsored by Persistent Foundation.
  • The OCCW Award recognizes women professionals who have made fundamental, innovative, impactful contributions to the computing field primarily working in India. The award carries a prize of ₹7 lakhs sponsored by Google.
  • The OCCE Award will be presented to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the computing education field primarily working in India. The award carries a prize of ₹7 lakhs sponsored by Microsoft Research India.
  • The DDA recognizes the best doctoral dissertation(s) in Computer Science and Engineering from degree-awarding institutions based in India. The award carries a prize of ₹2 lakhs. Tata Consultancy Services is the founding sponsor for this award.

An independent international jury for each award comprising of eminent computing personalities will select the recipients.
