ACM India Council Appoints R Venkateswaran as Council Member

ACM India Council has accepted the resignation of Prateek Jain who was elected as Council Member for the period July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2026. The Council appointed R. Venkateswaran for the period July 1, 2023 to June 30, 2026 to complete the term.

As a Senior Vice President at Persistent Systems, Dr. Venkateswaran is responsible for key strategic initiatives, with a focus on enabling the transformation and growth of Persistent’s business. An industry thought leader with more than 30 years of IT experience, Venki joined Persistent in 2002 and has undertaken various roles during his stint. Prior to Persistent, he worked for 7 years as a researcher at Bell Laboratories and also in the CTO office at Lucent Technologies. He earned his B.Tech and M.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay and has a PhD in Computer Science from Washington State University.

He has been associated with ACM India since its inception and has been contributing to the ACM India Eminent Speaker and Teaching Partnership Programs over the years. He currently serves as a member of the ACM India Learning Initiatives Committee and Education Committee.
