"Hour of Code" Is Just around the Corner — Get Involved Now!

December 5, 2013

CSEdWeek is fast approaching, but it's not too late to participate in the "Hour of Code," part of Computer Science Education Week, December 9-15. The goal of this exciting new event is to introduce more than 10 million students of all ages to the basics of coding, making it fun and accessible, with self-guided activities that every participant — regardless of age or skill level — can use to try out the essentials of computer science. It includes a variety of tutorials featuring technology leaders like Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg.

If you haven't signed up yet, ACM urges you to engage with your families, schools, and local professional and recreational groups to participate in the Hour of Code. Visit CSEdWeek's site for participation and hosting information. You can play an important role in making computing a part of a student's future, and opening the door to exciting future careers!
